Case based learning is a method of teaching and learning that uses real life situations to engage students in the learning process, stimulating discussion as well as collaborative analysis. Cases present students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to an authentic situation reflective of what they will encounter in the real world. Students should be divided into groups of 4 or 5, the lesson should span over several days. Allowing all members an opportunity to share and be heard in addition to permitting adequate time to thoroughly discuss and research the case topic.
